Meet Dr. Marie F. Woke

Dr. Marie F. Woke was born and raised in New Jersey where she attended Rutgers University for her undergraduate study in Biological Sciences and Psychology. She spent the next four years at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (formerly UMDNJ), following in the footsteps of her mother and working toward her DMD degree. After graduating dental school she moved to the shore where she completed a one-year GPR at The Jersey Shore University Medical Center (now Hackensack-Meridian) and spent most of her time in the operating room with her attendings repairing complex facial trauma. With an invigorated passion for oral and maxillofacial surgery she headed back to her roots to begin a one-year internship at Rutgers OMFS. She was then accepted into the 4-year program and completed her residency training at Rutgers.

During her time at Rutgers she had the opportunity to take part in various medical mission trips, notably to Bangladesh for the repair of cleft lips and palates, and to Haiti for dentoalveolar surgery. Since finishing residency she has continued her outreach work by joining a medical mission team that provides oral surgery care to the underserved areas of the Dominican Republic. She’s also dedicated her time to her local community by helping organize dental outreach programs providing free treatment to those without access to care. Her passion in oral & maxillofacial surgery is facial cosmetics, both surgical and non-surgical. She loves helping her patients feel rejuvenated and confident. This great attention to detail and excitement for the field is the backbone of how she practices.

Dr. Woke is a board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with memberships to a number of professional organizations including:

• American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
• American Dental Association

Dr. Woke has an extensive list of continuing education seminars and courses she has attended ranging from Cosmetics, Implants, Pathology, and Trauma. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training program and holds a hospital appointment at the University Hospital in Newark, NJ. She prides herself on the ability to make patients comfortable and relaxed without compromising her attention to detail. In her free time Dr. Woke enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family and Doberman pup Maverick.
