During your appointment, take the time to speak with our staff about any concerns related to your upcoming procedure. If you have any questions, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make sure your needs are met ahead of time.
Preparing Yourself for Your Procedure
No Food or Drink – You must refrain from consuming anything (including water) six hours before your scheduled appointment.
No Smoking – Refrain from smoking within the first 12 hours before surgery. It is best to quit smoking a full day before your surgery date.
Bring a Friend or Family Member – An adult must accompany you to our office and stay with you throughout the entire procedure so they may escort you home afterward.
Wear the Proper Clothes – Clothing needs to be loose and have rollable sleeves for access above the elbow, and shoes should have no or low heels.
Notify Us If You Feel Ill – Please notify our staff immediately should you experience a virus, sore throat, or upset stomach issues before your scheduled procedure.
Confirm Medications – Patients who must take daily medications need to check with Dr. Herbst for further instruction before their surgery date.
